Want to Break Your Cell Phone Contract?

Written by Mike on May 19, 2008 – 1:40 am -

Want the latest and greatest cell phone?  No problem, just sign on the dotted line and then they’ve got you for the next two years.  You’ll get that hot trendy phone at a great discount, but if you need to get out before the two years is up, it’s going to cost you…somewhere around $150 per phone.  However, you can avoid the heavy “penalties” if you can find someone to take over your agreement.  One of the best ways to go about this is to utilize an online service such as cellswapper.com or celltradeusa.com.  One other way to get out of your contract is if your provider alters the agreement in any way.  For instance, if they raise the cost of text messages, that would give you your “out.”

One last thought, you don’t have to get out of a contract if you never get into one.  Almost every carrier will provide service on a month-to-month service if you pay full price for the phone.  You might pay more upfront, but the increased flexibility and lack of headaches of fighting your carrier might be just what the doctor ordered.
